The shirt reads: “MY PLATE IS NOT A TRACKING NUMBER.”
Between the lines, a deliberately blank vehicle licence plate is bracketed by red camera corners, with a winding mountain road running away beneath it towards the hills.
Number plate readers are now on most main roads, and the shirt is a small objection to that. The plate is left empty on purpose — there is nothing on it to read. For drivers who have thoughts about surveillance, and for anyone who takes the long road partly because of who is watching the short one.
