The shirt reads: “DEATH” at the top of the card and “CAN WAIT” at the bottom.
Inside the border, a skeleton in a Hawaiian shirt and sun hat reclines in a striped deckchair with a cocktail, palm tree overhead, sandcastle beside it, the sun going down over the sea.
The Death card, on annual leave. Everything about the tarot framing is correct and the occupant has simply declined to work. For a holiday, for anyone who has earned a week off, and for the crossover between the Halloween shelf and the beach bag.
